From my employment at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis I focused on investigating factors that may prolong or reduce survival from pancreatic cancer, particularly obesity, diabetes, and tumor characteristics using larger data sets. As the biostatistician at Saint Louis County Department of Public Health I managed large data sets (vital records and hospital discharge data) as well as data sets from the Medical Examiner's office related to drug overdose death occurrences. My work focused on chronic diseases, social determinants of health, injury (firearm deaths), and drug poisonings. I conducted analyses in SAS from basic descriptive statistics to multiple linear and logistic regressions. I also used Esri ArcGIS to generate rate maps as well as hot spot analyses. Mercy
